Kahurangi (Mt Owen and Boulder Lake)

Puh, we are a bit behind with keeping the Blog up to date. Because of the good weather we rather stay at campgrounds than at Backpackers.

Anyway. Our last two trips on the South Island led us to Kahurangi National Park. First, we explored the incredible terrain around Mount Owen. The landscape is dominated by bizarre Limestone (German: Kalkstein) and Marble (Marmor) formations. See for yourself.

On the other trip we went to the picturesque Boulder Lake in the north of the park. We stayed an extra night at the lake and did a day trip to Lake Clara and the surrounding rocks.

Argh, seems the internet is too lame here and I have to abandon the computer now. So no pictures of Boulder Lake at the moment.
